Meet the New Haitian “Supershero”
The Smallholder Farmers Alliance has sponsored a new series of comic books created by Haitian artist Thony Loui. Tanama is a new “supershero” who uses her powers to plant and protect trees, support smallholder farmers, promote gender equality, and, of course, to fight environmental villians. The goal is to engage a youth audience in Haiti and abroad to become excited about trees, farming and female empowerment. The first comic came out in 2020 and the second is now in production.
